194 universities have already conducted their examinations and 366 are still planning to conduct their examinations in the coming months.

According to UGC, there are a total of 321 state universities, 274 private universities, 120 deemed to be Universities and 40 central universities. When added 566 universities had already conducted their examinations and some are planning to conduct them in August or September.

On July 6th, the UGC had informed all the educational institutions regarding the conduct of final year examinations. The revised guidelines finalised that the UGC was in favour of conducting the terminal and final year examinations.

This decision is not in favour of the students and hence the college students are against the UGC. Taking to Twitter, students all across India are pledging to cancel the examinations.

All Universities and colleges have been closed since March due to the covid-19 pandemic. India has seen a spike in the cases with 34,884 cases in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases hit the 10 lakh mark and reached 10,38,716 on Saturday.

With the pandemic situation getting out of hand, the Universities will have to take the necessary precautions while conducting the examinations or postpone them further.
