David Warner, Virat Kohli, Irfan Pathan and others mourn the loss of legend Dean Jones

Dean Jones, the former Australian Batsman and well-known commentator passed away due to a cardiac incident Thursday afternoon in Mumbai.

Having such intense exposure in the field of cricket, Dean Jones was In Mumbai for the broadcast set up for the Indian Premier League.

It was a bright shiny sunny Thursday when at around 11 am, Jones after his breakfast was chatting with his friends when he suddenly collapsed in the corridor. When taken to the hospital, he was declared dead. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was cardiac arrest.

Always passionate in the field of cricket, Dean Jones had a very well established role to play in the field of cricket. He was an ambassador and worked towards Cricket development in South Asia. He was also always nurturing the minds of young cricketers and always inspiring them.

Irfan Pathan tweeted saying, “I’m deeply shocked and saddened by the demise of our fellow commentator Dean Jones. He was fine in the morning. I had a video call with his son two days back. Everything was fine. Everything was normal. I can’t believe this. RIP”. Reminding us once again that life is short and that we should live every moment with all the zest and zeal, loving what we do just as Dean Jones did.

Others mourning about him include Shikhar Dhawan, Ravi Shastri, Jimmy Nisham, and Sachin Tendulkar.
“I can’t believe this news. So very sad to hear about this. Rip Deano, you will be missed.” Tweeted David Warner remembering the 59-year-old cricketer who won the heart of so many.
